Home Of Compassion Orphanage
Independent Church in India's (ICII's) first orphanage called Home of Compassion was started in 2006. The Lord has answered our prayers and has made a way to build this first loving home for desperate and heartbroken children to make a difference in their lives. The home is currently filled with more than thirty happy and healthy children whose lives have been totally transformed by the love of Jesus. At ICII's Home of Compassion Orphanage, many of the children have been rescued from child slavery, prostitution, leprosy colonies, and other poverty situations. Others have lost their parents due to AIDS, leprosy, or other heartbreaking situations.
Our mission is to help change these lives through the love of Jesus and by providing a Christ-like home, healthy food and water, medical, school expenses, clothing, toys, and so much more! We want these children to know that through Jesus there is truly a meaning and purpose for their lives! Each child now feels like they are part of a family that loves them deeply. Also, the children are filled with the love of Jesus and are showing their witness of Christ in their schools and everywhere they go. Indeed God has been changing lives for his glory for the past eight years at the Home of Compassion!
A letter to the sponsors from the girls who live at Home of Compassion:
"After we came here we have lots of fun and a happy life together. We go to school every day, we pray every day, and learn the Word of God every day. We never thought we will be in this kind of heaven to have this joyful kind of life together. In the past, we were slaves to the landlord and we suffered a lot in our villages where we were trapped in slavery. But now we feel free from these dangerous situations. Before we came here we always felt like we had a very dangerous situation in our lives. We were praying for God to send someone in our life to rescue us from this tragedy. God sent you into our life so we can live freely. We are thanking God for you! In this home they are providing three times a day good meals and giving attention to each one of us. We feel lots of love here. People used us in the past for many bad things but here we feel Jesus love and compassion".
James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
How ICII Got Involved With Home of Compassion Orphanage?
In February of 2006, the first six children came to live at the Home of Compassion orphanage. When the children saw their beautiful new home and began to experience love and tender care, there were big smiles of new hope on their faces. Shortly after the children arrived, they each received a gift bag with some toys, supplies for school, and personal items. When the children received the bag, they were so amazed that this was a gift for them that it took them a few moments to realize that this was their very own personal bag. One orphan girl exclaimed, “Please don’t send me back to where I came from. I want to stay here!” Later she could hardly wait to use her new toothbrush because even at nine years old, this was the first time she was going to use a toothbrush and toothpaste to brush her teeth. The children were very happy to have a new bed to sleep on. All their lives, they had to sleep on a mat on a damp floor. Now they can also enjoy three healthy meals a day. From 2006 until now many children have had a new life, new hope, and a loving family here at the Home of Compassion Orphanage.

We work to help these children to grow to be men and women of God. The children are supported through monthly financial commitments by caring sponsors around the world. Those who are sponsoring our children know how much the Lord has changed the children's lives and given them joy at the Home of Compassion Orphanage.
