Homeless Outreach

Reaching the Homeless in India

Through ICII's supporters, many among the homeless and the poorest of the poor are being provided with meals freely in the love of Christ. We also share the message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ to all those who are willing to listen. Three times each week, the ICII missionary team travels to different villages and areas to distribute hot rice meals to the homeless and destitute. Every week ICII reaches out to hundreds of homeless people who are unable to provide for themselves and their families and would be at risk of starvation.

Homeless Family Rescued and Saved...

One homeless man and his family, for whom ICII provided meals each week, shared this:
“My name is Ramasammy. My family and I are slaves. My wife and I have five children and we are living in a temporary tent. On a daily basis I try to find a paying job to pay my debts off to my slave owner so we do not have to continue to live in this condition. Living this way, I and my children have even been bitten by snakes, but we recovered.

"After the [COVID-19] virus started, I could not get any job so my family and I were starving for food every day. Sometimes people in the village would give us some small leftovers out of pity. The first day that an ICII missionary came to my tent, my wife and I and our children were sleeping with starvation. We had just been drinking water because we didn’t have any food to eat. We thought that we were going to die of starvation. This man came to my tent and woke us up and gave us some food for a few days. Until now God has been blessing my family through this missionary. After I get a job I will again be able to provide for my family. I want to thank you all who saved me and my family from dying from starvation. Also this man told me that Jesus is the true God who sent him to me. Now I am a believer in Jesus Christ. He is the true God that sent someone to save our lives. Thanks to all of you so much!”

Since then through an ICII supporter the Lord has provided for Ramasammy’s family to start their own business so their families needs will be provided and their daily sufferings and hardships just for food will finally come to an end.

Ministry News

Specific Ways You Can Help

There are hundreds of testimonies from families who have benefited from ICII’s ministry to the homeless during this epidemic. Our missionaries continue to reach out to the homeless, the blind, those with leprosy, the orphans, the broken and those with mental disorders who are wandering the streets, showing them Christ’s love and sharing the Gospel. Below are ways to help meet some urgent needs.

Meals For The Homeless

ICII missionaries will take a hot meal to starving families and individuals who are living on the streets and suffering from starvation. They will share the good news of Christ with them. It costs just 50 cents for one meal.

Clothing For The Homeless

Provide a new shirt (for a man) or a new sari (for a woman) for a gift of only $5 each.
Many among victims of leprosy, the blind, the poor and homeless have not received a new piece of clothing for many years, and they have to continue to wear their shamefully dirty and torn clothes to cover themselves.

Medical And Meal Outreach

You can provide a hot meal for up to 100 homeless people and those with leprosy who are hungry for a gift of only $125. Our church services for leprosy victims and the homeless provide both spiritual and physical needs. This meal will be the best that they receive all week, and it may be the only medical treatment a leprosy victim will ever get to bring relief to their painful sores.
