Independent Church in India reached out with the love and compassion of Jesus to the coastal town of Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu, India. There, a village named Kallaar with many huts once stood, but everything has been completely hopelessly destroyed by the tsunami.
Over the course of three trips, we have been able to take many more survival and hygiene supplies to encourage and build relationships with these people who have given up on hope and life.
As the Lord provides, we want to start building the orphanage this year so we can provide homes for the orphan children in this village. Together, we can reach these hopeless and suffering victims.
On our third trip, we asked the tsunami victims who would like to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Many raised their hands with hope and prayed, asking Jesus to come into their lives.
Then we distributed Bibles to the many outstretched hands of people desperate to read God’s word.
Please help us to share the love and compassion of the Lord Jesus Christ in their time of despair.
”For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Matthew 25:35-40
