Palaniyammal has had leprosy for 15 long years. She has two sons; her husband is dead. But her sons chased her out of their house because she contracted leprosy. Now she lives alone in a tiny hut in another village where low-caste people live. Only once a day she will normally have a meal – the government rationed rice which is the cheapest kind and tastes terrible. She earns this rice by slavery work, taking care of cows. She will also go begging. She never has money to buy fruits or vegetables, but mainly lives on the rationed rice. Palaniyammal wants to come to the colony in the future, as soon as she can be released from her slavery work.

Independent Church in India wants to invite you to sponsor a victim of leprosy. Your sponsorship of only $360 a year or $30 per month (for shared sponsorship) or $720 a year or $60 per month (for full sponsorship) will help to provide food for one leprosy friend, that we cannot grow on the land.
It will also provide medicine, clothes, personal needs, and will help to keep the Promised Land Leprosy Community running smoothly.
Here at our home, your leprosy friend will also learn more about Jesus through Bible studies and attending services. You will receive a photo and a testimony card of the leprosy friend that you decide to sponsor. Also each year you will receive a letter from your leprosy friend.
