From Murderer to Ministry Worker!
An ICII missionary from Tamil Nadu shared this: “One man named Ganthi was a bully even from his young days. He would steal from people, and everyone was scared of him. He would always drink alcohol and had a lot of bad habits. He eventually got sick, but no one cared about him. His own family even chased him out of their home. I met him and shared the Gospel to him and gave a Bible to him. He was very lonely and sad when I met him so I told him to read the Bible every day. After this, I began to visit him each week.
“One day when I met him he asked me this: ‘Will Jesus forgive all my sins in the past? I murdered people for money and I stole lots of money. In the Bible I read it says that the Son of Man has authority to forgive our sins. Will he forgive all my sins and heal me?’ So I told Ganthi if you truly ask forgiveness to Jesus, He surely will forgive all your sins. Ganthi accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and now his whole life has been changed. The Lord has also healed him totally from his sickness! He is also helping me to do the ministry!”
Religious Sect Priest Follows Jesus!
Pastor Raj shared this: “One day during children’s ministry I gave a New Testament to a boy who is a son of a priest. The boy told me later that he kept his Bible near to where his father would worship in his room filled with other gods. When his father came to this room to worship, he saw the Bible. The boy’s father started to read the Bible in his room because he was curious what the book was about. After one month, the boys’ father had totally finished reading the New Testament and he also removed all the other god’s pictures from his room. The boy’s father has decided to follow Jesus! The boy’s father asked him where the church is and they are now coming to church!”
The Bible Delivers Two Families From Suicide!
Pastor Bala tells: “Kannan, from a non-Christian family, is studying in 12th grade. One day I met him at school and shared about Jesus to him and gave him a Bible. Kannan said that he wanted to know more about Jesus so I told him to read his Bible every day. When I saw Kannan again, he shared this: “I was so depressed all the time, because my father drinks alcohol and beats my mother. We also have a lot of debts. One night my mother, sister and I were thinking how we can commit suicide, because my mom told us it is better to die than to keep living. But that same week you gave me the Bible so I began to read it and I felt so much happier and more peace. I told my mother and sister also to read it and we changed our minds. Even though my situation is tough, now we feel peace in our hearts through Jesus’. Kannan is also coming to my church also.”
Missionary James told this life-changing story: “I met a woman in a village who looked very unhappy. I could see that she was hopeless, so I sat with her and told her, ‘I have something for you to read in this book.’ I guided her how to read the Bible and shared with her how Jesus will give her peace. After she started reading the Bible, she began to cry and she shared, ‘My whole family is planning to commit suicide tonight. My husband just went to buy poison right now, and I was just thinking, how can I die and leave my children alone, so we all will plan to commit suicide as a family. God brought you to me at the right time and I want this peace in my family.’ She called her husband to come back and I went to their house, read the Bible, and prayed with them, and they changed their mind about committing suicide.
“Now they are coming to my church every week and I have started a church in their village!”
Witch Doctors Turn to the Lord:
A pastor told us this bondage-breaking testimony: “One day I went to a village to preach the Gospel and three people were sitting under a tree openly practicing witchcraft. I went to them and gave each one a Bible. In anger, they shouted, ‘Don’t give us a Bible, we are witch doctors and we can easily paralyze you.’ But I said to them, ‘I have God’s word in my hand, if you try anything against me it will not work.’ They began speaking curses to try to paralyze me, but I started to read Ephesians Chapter six from the Bible and prayed, ‘Lord I put on the whole armor of God!’ God did a miracle and opened their eyes to see a wall around me so that they could no longer see me—
“I was hidden from them and their curses! They soon stopped their practices and ask me to read the Bible to them! They all confessed that God’s Word is more powerful than their witchcraft. That day I shared the Gospel to them, and they accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Now they are coming to my church!”
The Word of God Sets a Prisoner Free
ICII missionary John shared this incredible testimony: “One day I went to visit those in prison. I gave a Bible to one prisoner, and he was very glad to receive the Bible. The next time I went to visit the prison the man to whom I gave the Bible shared with me that he had killed a man. He asked me: ‘Will Jesus forgive me? I know I am going to die, but I want to go to be with Jesus’. I shared with him about the thief on the cross whom Jesus told would be with Him in paradise.
“I shared the Gospel with him and the man accepted Jesus into his life as his Savior. The man shared: ‘Now I have peace in my heart, and even if I die I will go to be with Jesus!’
“He then gave me his family’s address and asked me to visit them and share the Gospel with them. After this I went to his family and preached the Gospel to them, and his family now also believes in Jesus!”
