Youth Girl Raised From The Deathbed!

Pastor Amalan spends long days traveling to remote villages sharing the good news of Christ.

In a small, remote village in Tamil Nadu, India, there lived a family whose hopes and dreams were all completely shattered. Eighteen months ago, their daughter Sathya had suddenly developed a rare blood disease that made her deathly sick. Over the months, she had become so weak that she could no longer move her body, and at only eighteen years of age, Sathya had become completely bedridden. Sathya’s family had been deprived of hope, because the doctors had clearly told them there was no chance of her ever recovering. She would spend her days lying there in agony, slowly waiting for death to come. If her family needed to take her somewhere, they had to carry her.  In her deteriorating condition, Sathya had lost all her hair and was mostly skin and bones

The family lived in an unreached village where no one had ever heard the name of Jesus before. The whole village and Sathya’s family were very devoted to religious sect and there had never been any Christian witness there. All they knew was to worship their gods out of fear, just hoping for a miracle. During the time Sathya had been sick her parents would desperately travel and carry their daughter to different Hindu temples, begging the gods they worshipped  to have mercy on them and heal their daughter. They made a blood sacrifice of a goat. Over a period of time they walked for days and many miles barefooted on the scorching hot and dangerous roads on a  pilgrimage to worship idols. They went to astrologers and witch doctors that practiced divination. One astrologer told the family that the location of their house was not right, so then the family moved and built another house to live. After doing all these things

This year, Pastor Amalan received a motorbike for his ministry.

nothing changed, but instead the family began to fall into poverty because they had spent over six thousand dollars, which was a very large amount for a person who lives in India. With all their money and hope gone, all they saw each day was their beloved daughter slowly decaying away in her bedridden state. One day in hopeless desperation, Sathya’s family carried her to a religious sect temple. At the temple there was a woman who was a witch doctor. She spoke to them by divination, telling them that the spirit inside her was saying; “Your daughter is mine now, and the destroyer god has entered into her .“ The family believed that on top of the daughter’s sickness she would also become demon possessed! Sathya’s family got very scared, and her father stood up to the demon and boldly said, “You cannot have my daughter.  I will save her!” That day the family left the religious sect temple worship. The very next evening that Sathya’s family had decided to stop worshipping at thereligious sect temple, the true God began to move in their lives…

Pastor Amalan Preaching the Gospel

An ICII missionary named Amalan normally travels around many villages to preach the Gospel and do Bible studies. One Saturday evening, one of the believers in his church called him and told him that he had a distant relative that was deadly sick. He agreed to go to pray for the girl. When Pastor Amalan and the believer got to the village, they found Sathya lying on her bed with her eyes shut, slowly slipping into unconsciousness. The smell of death filled the room and flies buzzed constantly around her. Pastor Amalan recalls, “That day I shared the Gospel to Sathya’s family and told them why Jesus came. I told them that they do not have to shed any blood by sacrificing animals, because Jesus already shed his own blood for their sins. After sharing the good news about Christ,  by faith I prayed for Sathya. I had to kneel down on the floor beside her because they could no longer even lift her up because her whole body was so painful. After praying, I invited the family to come to my church the next morning. It was getting late in the night, so I traveled home. The next morning a miracle happened! Sathya walked to my church with her family! The Lord Jesus had healed her!” It was a great time of rejoicing because God had worked a true miracle! As time went on, Pastor Amalan prayed for Sathya. Day by day, she began to get stronger and stronger, and  has fully recovered from this terminal sickness!

Sathya and her family have completely given their lives to Christ and they are giving Him all the glory!  Amalan now takes Sathya and her parents with him to do the ministry in the villages, and they share their miraculous testimony with all that they meet. Also through this miracle, twenty-five other families came to the Lord in Sathya’s village! This former village of religious sect devotees are now all believers in the Lord. Now instead of worshipping idols every Friday night, there is a Bible study and prayer going on instead. The family is very dedicated to the Lord and they want to donate a piece of land to build a church!

A True Miracle— While in India this past February, my family had the privilege to meet Sathya and her family the same day that they were baptized. I saw that her hair was growing back and she was starting to gain her weight back again. The Lord had truly worked a miracle in her life! Only Jesus has the power to restore life since He is the giver of all life. All glory to the Lord Jesus for showing His power in this village and saving souls that were once lost and on their way to hell. What a glorious God we serve!

What missionaries are saying about Independent Church in India

"To see first hand individuals becoming an extension of who Jesus is in our world today, reaching out to lepers whom society looked upon as untouchable, to provide food and clothing, bedding to sleep upon even if that means sleeping on the side of a busy dirty street filled with all kinds of humanity, animals etc. is the kind of compassion Jesus still has today if He can just find someone to carry His presence and power."                   ................................ Evangelist/Missionary/Author - Dave

In the villages, which have been reached by the ministry team of the Independent Church in India, there is a ray of hope ....... Many of the people have a new hope, which they have found only in hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ.     - US Missionary Kristi
