Kosangi grew up in a non-Christian family of nine. Most of his family has died. When Kosangi was 15 years old he contracted leprosy. As Kosangi got older he had to tend a small herd of goats each day from dawn to dusk in a coconut grove near his home in the cowshed compound where he and the landlord’s water buffalo stay. He lived in the animal compound for ten lonely years working for the landowner as a slave. Kosangi’s pay each day was two sparse meals consisting of ration rice, (old and bad tasting rice that sometimes has bugs and worms in it), and white corn food (which is normally fed to cows).
One day the ICII gospel team shared the Gospel to Kosangi and he received the Lord Jesus Christ. After this, Kosangi grew in the Lord and used to awaken at three o’clock A.M. and prayed until six o’clock A.M. On Sundays, he would then travel by bus, a two-hour journey, to ICII’s leprosy church. After much prayer, ICII was able to help release Kosangi from his landowner that had treated him as a slave for so many cruel years. After he came to know the Lord, Kosangi shares, I stopped my smoking habit. God healed my stomach problems. And I feel peace in my heart. After I came here to the Promised Land Leprosy Community I learned more about Jesus. Before I used to be mocked and scolded by anyone because of my leprosy. But now I am worshiping the Lord Jesus He continues to pray that the Lord will heal the pain in his legs and that the ulcers will also be healed.

Your sponsorship of only $360 a year or $30 per month (partial sponsorship) or $720 a year or $60 per month (full sponsorship) will help to provide for one leprosy friend’s food we cannot grow on the land. It will also provide medicine, clothes, personal needs, and will help to keep the Promised Land leprosy community running smoothly.
Here at their new home your leprosy friend will also learn more about Jesus through Bible studies and attending services. You will receive a photo and a testimony card of the leprosy friend that you decide to sponsor. Also each year you will receive a letter from your leprosy friend.
