The Good Samaritan Outreach

This is government-rationed rice that most
people only have as their main diet.

One day ICII visited an extremely poverty-stricken village named Koondangi-patti. At this village there were many needs. Hut and houses were in need of repair and the people were starving. All they had to eat was government-rationed rice, which is stale and yellow with lots of black specks. In the US, grain like this would probably be fed only to livestock. This rice often gives the people, especially the children, severe stomach pain. It smells and tastes very bad, but is cheap enough for most people to buy.

One family ICII saw had eight children. One child was still an infant, and their small house roof was beginning to cave in on them. All they had in their house was a small amount of rationed rice in water. The children's clothes were torn and dirty and it was plain to see that they were weak from lack of nutrition. The father also looked very weak and he could not work due to health problems. His wife was basically earning the income with her low-paying job. The team's hearts were grieved and they gave the family some good rice to ease their suffering. This family is just one example of the many grim situations ICII finds in the remote villages.

. If these hut testimonies have touched your heart and you would like to get involved in this unique kind of work, we have decided to start a new, much-needed fund. All gifts donated to our new "Good Samaritan Fund" will be used exclusively for this type of work, which is often a key to reaching villages with the Gospel.

The Good Samaritan Fund will help people who are in desperate need, such as disaster victims, orphans, the elderly, the disabled, food for the starving, hut building or repair, blankets, medical help, and much more. One hundred percent of all gifts given to this fund will be used to help those in desperate situations. For these people, your gifts are their only hope of any relief.
