Treating the Wounds of the Negected...
After this, Xavier and Pirabu set up a medical station and began treating and bandaging the sores and ulcers of those in need of attention. Xavier, who does the medical, said he never seen such severe and neglected ulcers anywhere before.

He was treating the people for hours that day. Lowell, Pastor Britto and I walked around to meet the residents who could not gather together because of disabilities, so that we could visit them by personal evangelism, pray for them, and give them blankets.

Since the government no longer provides the medicine and bandages, wounds are neglected and badly infected, making life miserable.

The video called ""Light of the World" has a very strong salvation message that holds the attention of those who are watching .

We had been there most of the day and all of us were getting very hungry and tired because we had not eaten since morning, but we wanted to show these people the movie called 'Light of the World'. So we left for an hour to try to refresh ourselves (but we could not find any sanitary place to eat). We came back to the colony when it got dark. Many of the people who could come gathered to see the movie. It seemed to be a refreshing time for them to sit there and forget their problems while they watched the video. After the movie, one woman said, "You have come here and have provided for both our physical needs by giving the nice blankets and also provided for our spiritual need by showing us this movie". Many others shared their appreciation as well.

Soon afterward, we traveled back to our hotel room. I lay awake much of the following two nights, thinking and praying about these leprosy friends I had met that lived in this unspeakable place. I wondered, what if my life was like that? How could I deal with it? It is beyond my worst dreams, a nightmare that one just cannot wake up from. But mostly, I began thinking and seeking the Lord for ways this ministry could help to make a difference in this colony. No one should have to live like less than an animal, as they have been living.
How could we walk away and let these people remain in these inhuman conditions? We definitely could not. First would be to get them living in a way that would be self-sufficient, since they could not depend on the government. Our Gospel team members felt the same way. We all knew that we were the ones that the Lord sent there and we could not walk away without doing anything. We also knew that there were some devoted Christians there that have been praying long for God to send them help. Now, almost everyone living there has accepted Christ since we preached the Gospel there. With the Lord's help, we want to somehow make life better and brighter for them.
